RV Awning Motor Failure in Miami Conditions

The awning motor drives the roller tube extension and retraction. In Miami, these motors fail from two primary causes: salt air corrosion of the motor housing and electrical connections, and sustained UV exposure degrading the motor wiring insulation. A motor that shows intermittent operation - sometimes working, sometimes not - usually has a corrosion-related resistance buildup in the wiring or switch contacts. Motor Replacement Procedure

We also apply dielectric grease to all wiring connections before reinstalling the end cap - this prevents the salt-air corrosion that likely contributed to the original failure.
